    Reasoning Through Language Arts (RLA)

    This course prepares educators to master the complexities of the GED RLA exam, focusing on reading comprehension of informational and literary texts, as well as the mechanics of writing evidence-based arguments. Participants will learn how to guide students in constructing high-scoring extended responses and improving grammatical precision within the context of American educational standards.

  • Mathematical Reasoning

    Designed for future GED math instructors, this module covers the pedagogical strategies for teaching algebra, geometry, and quantitative problem-solving. Educators will learn how to bridge student gaps in mathematical logic, effectively utilize the GED digital calculator, and simplify complex word problems for diverse learners.

  • Social Psychology in Education

    Social Psychology in Education (2 credits)

    This course explores the intersection of social behavior and the educational environment. It focuses on how social interactions, group dynamics, and cultural contexts influence individual learning and classroom behavior. Key topics include teacher-student relationships, peer influence, social identity, and conflict resolution within the classroom. Students will learn practical strategies for managing social dynamics to foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative learning atmosphere.

    This module equips teachers with the frameworks necessary to teach U.S. History, Civics, Economics, and Geography as an integrated discipline. Focus is placed on developing students' critical thinking skills, enabling them to analyze primary source documents and interpret social studies data within a global and civic context.

Admission Requirements
  • Applicants must hold a university degree related to the GED subject they wish to teach.
  • A strong commitment to supporting students as they enter the American education system.
  • Priority is given to applicants willing to serve in partner schools located in Bago, Hpa-An, Pathein, Yangon, Mandalay, Taunggyi, and Dawei.
Program Requirements
  • Successful completion of specialized subject sessions
    • RLA: Thursday & Friday (7:30 PM – 9:00 PM)
    • Mathematics: Monday & Wednesday (8:00 PM – 9:30 PM)
    • Science: Tuesday & Thursday (7:30 PM – 9:00 PM)
    • Social Studies: Saturday & Sunday (6:00 PM – 7:30 PM)
    • Class Size: Limited to 20 students per subject to ensure personalized instructional quality.
  • Program Award

    Upon completing the program requirements, educators will receive six credits, a diploma, and a transcript from the University of Taxila. If educators opt to pay additional fees, they can earn six non-degree graduate-level professional development credits from the University of North Dakota and receive an official transcript.
